Manchester City have agreed a deal for the sale of Nahuel Ferraresi, according to reports from Brazil.
Journalist Jorge Nicola comes up with exclusive news saying there’s now an agreement with São Paulo for the defender’s permanent transfer.
Ferraresi had been loaned by Manchester City to the Brazilian club last summer, and with the spell expiring this month, there had been talks to keep him there.
The first reports said São Paulo wanted to extend the loan, especially because the defender is recovering from a knee injury. But Nicola now claims there’s an agreement for a permanent deal.
Previous claims had been saying Manchester City demanded €7m for the sale. Nicola didn’t manage to get hold of the exact price the clubs agreed to, but it’s guaranteed it will be way below that request.
The reason why São Paulo aren’t buying Ferraresi right now is the injury recovery. They used that as an argument to postpone the purchase until the next year.
This is the second athlete that Manchester City sell to South American clubs this summer, as it was recently reported in Argentina that Talleres are buying Nahuel Bustos, and perhaps Pep Guardiola’s side are tired of loaning unwanted players around and will now negotiate them for good.
