While spending billions improving the first-team has been a priority for Manchester City, signing young talent comes a close second.
Those in charge at the Etihad are determined to build a dynasty at the club, and that means planning for the future as well as the present.
This has seen them spending their transfer windows hoovering up talent from around the globe, with the plan to always have the next player ready to make the step up.
The latest youngster who could find himself a Manchester City player is Alianza Lima right back Kluivert Aguilar.
According to Fox Sports Peru journalist Peter Arévalo, the 17-year-old is very close to completing a move to the Etihad. He made the claim on his radio show, with El Bocón covering the quotes.
Now there’s no mention of a transfer fee or any other details for that matter; just that he’s been informed that a deal could be close.
However, it would make sense. Earlier this summer we covered a claim from Jean Pierre Maraví, who stated a coach at Benfica had told him Aguilar was joining Manchester City.
This was later followed by the player openly discussing the matter and declaring “I’d like to go to Manchester City” when asked about the subject.
That’s a lot of smoke for there not to be something happening, at the least it’s clear that discussions have been held and Kluivert Aguilar is a player that City are seemingly keen on.
