Following a 2-0 loss to West Ham United over the weekend, Wolverhampton Wanderers decided to part ways with Bruno Lage.

The result also provided a much needed boost for David Moyes, whose job with the Hammers had come under scrutiny following a series of bad results to start the Premier League campaign.

While he’s not out of the woods just yet, the Scottish manager, who gave Wolves an extra reason to sack Lage, could do the same with Anderlecht’s Felice Mazzu this week.

The Belgian manager is under a lot of pressure after a 1-0 loss to Charleroi at the weekend, and his side picking up 13 points from a possible 30 to start the season really hasn’t gone down well.

In fact, some believe that poor results against West Ham in the coming weeks could lead the Jupiler Pro League side to part ways with Vincent Kompany’s successor.

Voetbal Nieuws look at his situation, and state that ‘zero out of six against the Hammers would not only give European goals a blow, but could immediately mean the final blow for Mazzu’.

Anderlecht face KV Mechelen between the two West Ham games, and that could also play a crucial role in his employer’s decision making.

Either way, it seems the Premier League have his future in their hands, and if David Moyes manages to get a good run of form going, it could mean the end for Mazzu.

Then again, if Anderlecht pull off the unexpected and win both games against West Ham, the same could very quickly be said about the Hammers’ manager.
