Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri would ‘gladly embrace’ Everton midfielder Allan this summer should the club sell Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
That’s according to Il Messagero, relayed by Area Napoli, who say the Brazilian is one of the options being eyed by the Italian boss to replace one of his key men.
The newspaper explains that Lazio are ‘thinking about the future’ and the team they want to build for next season.
They want a side capable of competing for the Champions League, and work is already underway on the players they would like to target.
The Serbian has long been linked with a move away from the Italian club, but there is a growing feeling this year may be the one in which he finally departs, particularly as he will be in the final two years of his deal this summer.
The Everton man is one of several players that Lazio are looking at but does have the advantage of being a player Sarri knows well.
Indeed, the best part of his career was undoubtedly spent under the Italian, and it seems Sarri is keen on a reunion because of that.
Whether Allan would welcome the move isn’t mentioned, nor is whether Everton would sanction a move, just that Sarri has him on his list.
Any transfer will likely depend on whether Everton can avoid relegation, with all focus on that at the minute and not transfer business, something Frank Lampard has spoken of publicly.
Still, it’s one to keep an eye on, particularly if Milinkovic-Savic were to leave at any point this summer.
