Switzerland boss Adi Hütter is set to travel to England next week amid reports linking him with the Crystal Palace manager’s job.

That’s according to journalist Peter Linden, who says the 53-year-old is remaining calm amid conflicting reports over replacing Roy Hodgson.

A report from Kurier in Austria yesterday stated that Hütter was set to take charge of Crystal Palace in the summer and a deal was in place for him to be Patrick Vieira’s permanent replacement once Roy Hodgson steps down from his interim role.

That, though, was quickly followed up by a claim from Sky Sport Austria that stated it was not the case and he was actually looking at jobs elsewhere in England.

Linden now picks up on that, explaining Hütter was at the Allianz Arena to watch Manchester City’s clash with Bayern Munich last night, where ‘quite a few’ asked him about the Crystal Palace reports.

He refused to answer that but his trip to watch the game has been seen as a potential ‘preparation’ trip for a possible engagement in the Premier League.

He wanted to watch Manchester City live and is set to expand his horizons with a trip to England next week, where he will watch games on Tuesday and Wednesday.

He won’t be watching the clash between City and Arsenal, though, but there is a ‘maybe’ on him watching Wolves vs Crystal Palace at Molineux as the Eagles are the ones he is the ‘most associated’ with.

There are other options for him in England, though, including Leicester, where Dean Smith’s contract only runs until the summer also.

Either way he is planning ahead and wants to take two assistants with him to England should he get the move he wants. The first of those will be Christian Peintinger, who was with him at Young Boys, Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The second would be Armin Reutershahn, who is currently at Borussia Dortmund and has an offer to extend his deal there should he wish.

First Hütter will need to secure a job and he understands that may not be Crystal Palace as there are a ‘few candidates’ for the position and no ‘clear favourite’ has emerged as yet.

He is aware of that but isn’t getting ‘nervous’ and is simply waiting to see what happens, refusing to comment on the speculation in the interim but undoubtedly fuelling it anyway with his planned trip to England next week.
