Since Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison was seen in tears on Brazil’s bench last Friday, the local media has been making a big thing about it.

The 26-year-old has recently been struggling to score a goal for the national team, and that’s a problem he’s already been facing at Spurs for a while.

Among the many stories about his situation, we today see a column from UOL’s Alicia Klein claiming Brazil’s new manager Fernando Diniz could help him with that.

The journalist features a piece where she interviews a psychologist to talk about the striker’s recent challenges, and points out that the coach may be the right person to support him now.

“Fernando Diniz knows all this. He has a degree in psychology. Perhaps that’s why he made a point of reinforcing his belief in Richarlison by giving him another chance in today’s match against Peru.

“May this external confidence help the Pigeon to rediscover his internal confidence and, with it, his nose for goal. It’ll be good for everyone.”

Despite Richarlison missing a sitter against Bolivia on Friday night, Fernando Diniz is insisting on him and starting him tonight.

Richarlison only has one goal in five appearances for Tottenham this season, and that was scored in the EFL Cup clash against Fulham.

The striker had already struggled with Premier League goals in his first season for Spurs, and even though Tottenham had a great start under Ange Postecoglou, his hard time continues.
