Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah is set to fly to Germany today to complete a move to Bayer Leverkusen.

That’s according to Sky Sports Germany, who report that the Bundesliga club have agreed a €2m deal with Manchester United for the Dutchman.

Fosu-Mensah is currently in the final six months of his contract at Old Trafford, meaning he is free to negotiate with clubs around Europe over a free transfer in the summer.

A lack of playing time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had led to suggestions he could be moved on this month as well.

Ajax and Bayer Leverkusen were both named as suitors for the 23-year-old over the last few days, and it now appears the latter have won the race.

Sky, via journalist Max Bielefeld, report that Fosu-Mensah is set to fly to Germany today to complete his move from Manchester United.

They say that Leverkusen have agreed a €2m deal with United to make the move happen this month and the 23-year-old will sign a deal until 2024 with the Germans, who currently sit third in the Bundesliga table.
