Even though most updates on the future of Darwin Nunez normally come from Portugal, we now get to see the Italian media sharing some new information on the race for his signing.

Journalist Rudy Galetti now comes up to say that according to sources close to the striker, his ‘favourite club for the future’ would be Manchester United.

The reporter claims Darwin’s entourage is in ‘constant contact’ both with his club Benfica as with Erik ten Hag’s side, and the Red Devils are now ‘front-runners’ for the signing.

Galetti also points out that Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are still ‘fully’ in the competition alongside Manchester United for the 22-year-old as well.

Darwin Nunez finished his season for Benfica with 34 goals scored, including those against the likes of Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Ajax and Liverpool in the Champions League.

The word in Portugal is that the Eagles are willing to sell him for over €100m, and despite claims saying Manchester United would lose strength due to their lack of Champions League football next season, we’ve seen the rumours about the Red Devils increasing once again in the past few days.
