Much to the distaste of Manchester United fans, Anthony Martial’s future is once again being talked about, all stemming from an RMC Sport article from around a month ago claiming talks between the club and the player over a contract extension were going nowhere.
Used in the FA Cup by José Mourinho at the weekend, the France international failed to deliver, and there’s a fear spreading through the fanbase the 22-year-old could be sold come the summer.
Far from helping, the player’s agent, Philippe Lamboley, speaking to Il Bianconero on Monday, poked the fire a bit more, claiming he had no idea whether his client would be spending next season in the north of England.
He said: “Will he stay at Manchester in the summer? At the moment, I cannot say anything else about it.”
Lamboley, however, did push to one side the rumour sending Martial to Juventus, and made it very clear that Doyen Sports do ‘not represent’ the Manchester United forward, and he had never met with anyone from the Serie A side.
He went on to state that ‘all that has been reported in the Italian papers about my client is false’.
Despite having a rather inconsistent run of form of late, Martial has picked up 11 goals and 10 assists in 40 Manchester United appearances this season.
