Bought from Benfica for £13.4m, Bernardo Silva could end up making Monaco a healthy little profit in the summer, if Le10 Sport are to be believed.
As has been reported quite a few times over the past month or so, Manchester United are said to be interested in signing the Portuguese inside forward, with José Mourinho being a big fan of the 22-year-old’s potential ability.
Furthermore, the fact that Bernardo Silva is currently being represented by none other than Jorge Mendes suddenly makes the story even more interesting, considering the super agent also represents the Manchester United manager.
In fact, the French magazine report the close relationship between all the parties means some kind of agreement could already be in place to bring Silva to Old Trafford in the summer.
Le10 claim Manchester United have already started talks for a June transfer, negotiating an option on the player, meaning they have priority until a certain date.
They also do not exclude the possibility the Premier League club have also sorted out a first refusal option, which would force Monaco to notify the Red Devils if someone were to bid for Silva to allow them to match the offer.
With a contract running until 2020, any deal taking the Portuguese starlet away from the Stade Louis II would have to be a very expensive one, but then again, since when has money been a problem for Ed Woodward?
