Manchester United are having a quiet transfer window so far.
Jose Mourinho’s club secured a much needed midfielder in Fred and have a fullback for the future in Diogo Dalot, but they’ve arguably made just a single first team addition.
With the transfer window closing earlier this summer the pressure is very much on and the central defender which many expected to arrive isn’t at Old Trafford yet.
Toby Alderweireld has been linked for months and dealing with Tottenham is never going to be easy so it would be no surprise if Manchester United are looking elsewhere.
One man linked sporadically is Jerome Boateng. The German media have repeatedly made clear the defender will be sold by Bayern Munich this summer if a good offer comes in, but no interest has firmed up yet.
Kicker report on Monday that United and PSG have made ‘initial exploration’ over signing the player. Both clubs are said to be interested and it’s claimed a transfer could be done at €50-60m.
No offers have been made yet and whilst Boateng has proven he’s a very good defender, he turns 30 years of age in September and there must be a reason Bayern are open to a transfer.
