Manchester United have been handed a boost in their potential move for Sevilla defender Jules Koundé, with the Spanish club willing to list to offers for him.
That’s according to La Colina de Nervión, who say Sevilla chief Monchi will be willing to do a deal for his club’s prize asset this year.
Koundé has established himself as one of the hottest prospects in world football this year, with a series of impressive performances in Sevilla’s defence seeing all the elite clubs in Europe take notice.
He’s expected to cause an ‘intense’ fight for his services this summer, and Manchester United are one of the clubs thought to want him.
They are keen to find a high-level partner for Harry Maguire and La Colina back that up, stating that they ‘plan to solve them’ by signing Koundé.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are not the only ones keen, though, and as a result, Sevilla ‘rub their hands’ at the prospect of a battle for his signature.
Director of football Monchi ‘will listen to offers’ but knows Koundé is a top player and his future growth is comparable to that of Kylian Mbappé or Erling Haaland, just at the opposite end of the pitch.
Thus he will have ‘intelligently manage’ the offers that come in, and he will not ‘make his (Koundé’s) exit an easy one.’
He knows there and no other central defenders with his ‘quality, personality and youth’ as well as the fact that the ‘demand’ for him is ‘wide’.
So, any suitors, namely the likes of Manchester United, will have to pay a big price if they wish to get him this summer and, as La Colina put it, ‘if nothing goes wrong, Koundé will become the biggest sale in the club’s history’.
