Manchester City are closing in on AC Milan youngster Giuseppe Iglio, according to claims in the Italian media. The 16-year-old has yet to sign to sign a professional contract with the Serie A club, and Manchester City, along with Liverpool have been linked with the player.
TMW have reported Manchester City are ready to offer Iglio a contract, which they hope will convince the young midfielder to move to the Etihad. Pep Guardiola’s side are ready to present a ‘top level project’ to get their man.
Iglio has been in talks with AC Milan about staying at the San Siro, but it now seems these discussions have been exhausted. Manchester City hope to take advantage, and sign the Italy youth player in the coming weeks
Earlier this month we covered reports from Italy that Liverpool and Manchester City were tracking Iglio after the midfielder recently turned 16 years old. Iglio has impressed for AC Milan’s youth team this season, which has led to interest from other clubs.
Both Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp and Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola have a good record of giving chances to young players, which could sway Iglio should he be considering an England move, but it seems the Manchester club are in pole position at the moment.
