On July 4th, we covered claims made by Salzburger Nachrichten which explained Mohamed Camara could move to Leeds United quickly after the Whites received an economic boost.
Having sold Kalvin Phillips to Manchester City on Monday, Jesse Marsch’s side are in the process of allowing Raphinha to make a move away from Elland Road.
These two deals can significantly improve Leeds’ finances and that can help them pay the €30m fee demanded by Red Bull Salzburg.
Salzburger Nachrichten on Tuesday again state Leeds have the economic strength to sign the Mali international, who is ‘aiming for a move’ to the Premier League this summer.
The Austrian champions released Camara from training due to ‘transfer negotiations’, and if he fails to sort out his future before Thursday, then the player will have to return for preseason.
It’s explained Leeds have ‘not yet submitted a concrete offer’ for the 22-year-old. Red Bull Salzburg sporting director Christoph Freund, for now, is unsure whether Marsch’s side will make a proposal for Camara.
“Mo still has a three-year contract with us, so it’s also possible that he’ll continue to play in Salzburg. I can’t predict if Leeds are also willing to buy him out of his contract, but in football, a lot can happen very quickly,” Freund told Salzburger Nachrichten.
