Chelsea defender Thiago Silva had a word with the Brazilian media following the Blues’ 2-0 win over Lille in the Champions League last night.

With the 37-year-old having another great performance, he was asked about the moment he’s been living at the Stamford Bridge, as he initially joined the club on a short-term deal and now plans to stay in London for a third year.

Thiago Silva claimed he’s been living a ‘dream’ at Chelsea, especially from the support he’s been getting from the fans, and thanked the people who brought him to the club.

“Man, I think I’m living a dream. I didn’t expect it to be as good as it is. Sometimes on the pitch we don’t listen so much, but as it’s the whole stadium, it’s something that gets very strong in my head. ‘Oh Thiago Silva, oh Thiago Silva’ at every moment, at every cut, at every beautiful play I make defensively. So that fills me with pride,” Thiago Silva told TNT Sports.

“This shows not only what I’ve done in my career, what I’m still doing. So that makes me very happy. But at the same time it increases my responsibility to continue playing at a high level, to continue helping the team. I’m very flattered by all that I’m living, I believe I’m living one of the biggest dreams of my life. And I thank the people who were important for my arrival here, who were Lampard, Marina, in short, who put all this trust.”

Thiago Silva joined Chelsea following the end of his contract with Paris Saint Germain in the summer of 2020.

Since then, it’s been 64 appearances for him at the club, which were enough for him to conquer a Champions League, a UEFA Super Cup and lastly a Club World Cup, where he was awarded the best player in the tournament.
