Portuguese side Sporting on Thursday announced the signing of Rafael Camacho from Liverpool, just as the Portuguese media predicted they would.

After months of negotiations, the winger is heading back to his old club on a €5m deal, which sounds like a pretty good agreement for the Lisbon side.

And since Liverpool have also been linked to Bruno Fernandes in the past few weeks, we’ve been wondering if the clubs could negotiate the two players in the same deal.

But Record gives us an answer today, and it’s negative. They say the transfer ‘does not have any ties with Liverpool’s interest in Bruno Fernandes’.

A Bola claims that if the Reds really want the midfielder, they must find a separate negotiation for the 24-year-old.

Sporting president Frederico Varandas spoke to Sporting TV on Thursday, and also talked about Fernandes.

Since there’s a clause in the midfielder’s contract which says he should be paid a fine of €5m in case Sporting reject an offer of over €35m for him, he was asked if the player could be leaving for that price.

“For how much? (Laughter) Bruno Fernandes will not leave Sporting for €35m,” Frederico Varandas told Sporting TV (via Record).

“We have a acknowledgement for Bruno and we believe that, staying, it’s entirely fair to improve his contractual conditions, in full justice. So we aren’t worried and we are more than prepared for scenario A, B or C.”
