The chemistry between Liverpool’s attacking trio couldn’t be any better. If Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino already had a good relationship for both being Brazilians, Senegalese winger Sadio Mané didn’t need much time to adapt to that.
The 24-year-old was interviewed by ESPN Brasil this week and spoke much about his relationship with the Brazilian players, with whom he’s even learned some local dances.
“It was Firmino who taught us to do the dance. After the trainings, he makes us dance and explains how we’ll do it after the goal.”
“They play very well, they’re great players. They have amazing qualities and made everything become easier for me because they already know where I’ll be. And for me it’s the same. This is our strength.”
But despite the Brazilian influence, Mané promises that if he scores against Watford, the celebration will be different: “The next will be mine. I’ll teach them a Senegalese dance. If I score this weekend, that’s how we’re going to dance.”
During the Premier League broadcasts in Brazil, Mané has always been compared to the legend Mané Garrincha. Especially during the Senegalese’s time at Southampton, when Mané had a partnership with Pellé, just like in Brazil’s golden days.
But when questioned about it, the Liverpool wasn’t crowd pleasing: “No, I didn’t know.”
The Liverpool star revealed he has another inspiration from the country: “Ronaldinho. He’s someone who was my idol and I admire a lot. He’s the best.”
