Liverpool are ‘preparing an assault’ to sign Piotr Zielinski from Napoli, according to reports from Italy today.
It’s website Calcio Mercato who has a story on the player’s situation at the Italian side, where he’s still much wanted by clubs who tried to sign him in the past.
Liverpool would be one of them, as Jurgen Klopp is said to have been a fan since the 23-year-old’s loan spell at Empoli in the 2015/16 season, with the Reds also monitoring him for a few years.
The Merseyside club are also said to have been scouting Zielinski recently, which would add weight to the claims.
Another side who could be trying to take the midfielder soon are AC Milan, who lost the race to Napoli when the player left Udinese in 2016.
Now for Liverpool’s offer to be accepted, then it would have to be a convincing one. Calcio Mercato claims that at least €35-40m would be needed for Napoli to consider selling the player.
Even though the club’s plan is to keep him for longer, the website makes it clear that he can leave for the right price.
