At the weekend, Mundo Deportivo stated Liverpool’s Luis Díaz dreams of joining Barcelona and is willing to force a move if the La Liga side were to push for his transfer.

They also stated the Catalan club’s sporting director, Deco, likes Díaz the most.

Monday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo backs that up and provides more on Deco’s interest in the Liverpool player.

Díaz is with the Colombia squad for the ongoing international break and scored in the 2-1 defeat to Brazil on Thursday. The Barcelona sporting director was in attendance at Mané Garrincha to follow the 28-year-old.

The newspaper says the former FC Porto man ‘made a good impression’ despite Colombia losing the tie.

Barca are looking to improve their left wing and Díaz is the favourite target for Deco. His contract at Liverpool lasts until 2027 and it’s not clear whether the Reds would be open to letting him leave.

Barcelona, down their end, have to know about their financial situation and ‘whether they can afford’ to sign him. Mundo further add they would also have to offload a player before making an approach for the Liverpool player.

At this point in time, it’s unclear whether Barcelona can sign Díaz in the summer window.
