Naby Keïta arrived at Liverpool from RB Leipzig in 2018 and the midfielder has so far made only 20 league starts (four starts this campaign) since the start of last season.
Reports coming from the English media have suggested the 25-year-old could be allowed to leave the Merseyside club in the summer.
Bild have come up with a report to see if there’s any possibility for the Guinea international to return to Leipzig.
They state Keïta ‘never really rose in the Premier League’, which is why he hasn’t featured regularly under Jürgen Klopp.
It’s claimed the player has had his ‘best time’ with the German side and still ‘enjoys cult status’ at Leipzig. However, his return seems unlikely for various reasons.
Keïta is outside the age limit (maximum limit is 24) of the players that Leipzig plan to recruit.
His current wage is estimated to be €12m (which seems high) and Julian Nagelsmann will not be able to meet the salary demands. In addition to this, the fee needed for a transfer would be less than €50m.
The aforementioned factors make it difficult for Leipzig to bring Keïta back to the club.
