The departure of Lucas Moura from PSG should be a move to keep an eye on soon.

It may feel like his transfer from São Paulo to Europe happened ages ago, and the winger may look older than he actually is. But at 25, there’s still time to recover his career.

That’s what Brazilian website Globo Esporte has a story about today, saying that the player has now decided he should leave the French side. The super team built in Paris has been exciting for many people, but not for the Brazilian, who’s getting little chances since the summer market.

The realiable outlet claims that four ‘big’ clubs showed interest in the last window: Manchester United, Liverpool, Monaco and Tottenham.

Sport Witness could exclusively reveal José Mourinho’s interest at the time, while the Liverpool links were even commented on by the player as well. Tottenham didn’t really come into the picture until the end of the window, when a France Football journalist linked Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

In any case, it’s claimed that Lucas chose to stay in Paris for three reasons. First is that his wife is about to have a baby in the next few days, so he didn’t want to move for this stage of pregnancy. Second is the fact that he’s about to complete five years in Paris, which means he can get the French citizenship. And there’s also this new great squad, in which he thought he could find a place.

But with only 71 minutes played this season, he and his staff believe it’s time to leave. Especially because there’s still a little hope that he can make it to the World Cup, as long as he tries a final shot first. A return to Brazil is considered very unlikely, with his salary being the biggest obstacle.

We must recall that according to the French press, Lucas has recently been offered to Chelsea, who would be considering the signing.

As his agent has always claimed that the Premier League would suit him pretty well, and so many English clubs seem to be interested, it really wouldn’t be a surprise to see him crossing the English Channel in January.
