Juventus are licking their transfer wounds right now having been somewhat beaten up by Premier League clubs when it comes to their pursuit for a defender this summer.

Firstly, there’d been confidence Riccardo Calafiori would choose to join the Turin club from Bologna, but he wasn’t prepared to wait around and when Arsenal came in that was that.

Then the next option was signing Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice. Sure, West Ham had put a much better offer in, but Juve and their local media were convinced the player would pressure Nice to sell to them. Todibo is now expected to have his Hammers medical today.

Now they have to look at new options, and Calciomercato say that brings them into a Liverpool and Crystal Palace tussle.

It’s claimed both Liverpool and Crystal Palace are keen on Maxence Lacroix, who has less than a year left on his VfL Wolfsburg contract. Calciomercato don’t make it sound like Juve would be up for a battle with either Arne Slot’s side or the Eagles, perhaps a little scarred after their Premier League bruising already.

Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior is another option, as is free agent Mario Hermoso and Barcelona’s Clement Lenglet.

Liverpool were linked with Lacroix earlier this summer, and it’s been Crystal Palace put in the picture this week. In Germany, as it stands, it’s been made clear no offers have arrived at Wolfsburg.
