With Everton’s bad start to the season, it was just a matter of time until other managers were linked to Ronald Koeman’s job.
One of these rumours came out earlier this week, when The Telegraph pointed out that Paulo Fonseca could still be in the club’s books after already being considered to replace Roberto Martinez.
The story included an interview with Fonseca, who didn’t hide his wish to work in the Premier League and confirmed that his contract with Shakhtar Donetsk will only be running until the end of the season.
Now the manager is really willing to flirt with this Premier League move, because in today’s edition of Record, there’s another interview with him, and once again he was asked about it.
“Everyone knows that my dream is to train in England and live the whole atmosphere. Seeing my name linked to Premier League clubs leaves me satisfied, of course. It is the acknowledgment of the good course that we have been carrying out,” Fonseca told Record.
“But at that moment I do not think about it. I’m just focused on Shakhtar, the revalidation of the titles and the attempt to have a good performance in the Champions League. These, yes, are my priorities.”
A wink to Everton.
