Even though recent reports from Brazil made it sound like Leicester City were very close to signing Lucas Beraldo from São Paulo, it now seems the situation is taking a new turn.
Journalist Gabriel Sá has brought an exclusive claim saying the Brazilian club are about to sell the defender to Paris Saint-Germain instead.
It’s said the French side have advanced talks to secure the signing for €20m plus €5m in bonuses.
On Monday, it had been claimed that Leicester City officials had already spoken to the player and told São Paulo they’d outbid Zenit, who offered €18m for him.
The expectation had always been that the Foxes would offer €20m, just like PSG, although those bonuses were never mentioned.
Beraldo was said to have the desire to play in the Premier League and was keen on accepting Leicester City’s offer because of his trust in their promotion. However, it now looks like PSG had more convincing arguments to win the race.
