Leicester City and Southampton are in the picture to sign Benfica’s Tiago Gouveia this summer, according to O Jogo.

Benfica manager Roger Schmidt used the winger mainly as a substitute as he clocked in 771 minutes from 28 games last season, managing four goals and four assists.

That hasn’t put off Leicester and Southampton, as these two clubs have set their sights on signing the 23-year-old.

This is mentioned in a report that mentions the Premier League sides that have Benfica players on their agenda for this window.

The Eagles have received interest from England for eight players, including the attacker, who is wanted by Leicester and Southampton, and Florentino Luís.

Gouveia’s deal lasts until 2028 and is valued at €5m by Transfermarkt. There’s no mention of the Portuguese club’s request to sell him.

As well as Gouveia, the Foxes are looking at the option to sign Luís. It’s claimed the 24-year-old midfielder is being ‘tempted’ by Steve Cooper’s side, Everton and Fulham.

O Jogo state the possibility of Leicester and two other English clubs trying to sign Luís would be high in this window.
