Leeds United ‘want to secure’ signing of attacking midfielder, tomorrow a big day for him

Italy face Portugal on Sunday in the final of the U19 European Championships being held in Finland.

One of the most talked about Portuguese youngsters is Domingos Quina, and he’s attracting transfer attention from several clubs. West Ham will surely want to keep hold of the 18 year old and a lot will depend on what the player himself thinks.

Leeds United are keen according to Saturday’s edition of O Jogo. The Portuguese newspaper states Leeds ‘want to secure’ the signing of the youngster, but face competition from Barcelona.

Only today we’ve covered Catalan claims that Barca are keen on the young Hammer and would put =him in their B team with a longer term view to making it with the seniors.

That’s obviously big competition for Leeds but if there was the prospect of playing Championship football next season, Quina may be tempted.

From a West Ham perspective, the player’s contract expires in June 2019 so this summer summer is crucial. Perhaps they should have renewed his contract earlier.

Quina will hope to shine in the final tomorrow, and that would bring further interest.
