Marca seem pretty big fans of Emiliano Buendia, who was linked with Leeds United over the weekend.
The 20 year old was born in Argentina but has dual Spanish nationality, and in terms of a transfer that means he’s an EU citizen so wouldn’t require a work permit, pre Brexit anyway.
Owned by Getafe, and on a long contract with the club who rate him highly, Buendia is spending this season on loan at Cultural Leonesa, the Spanish club with Leeds United connections via Aspire.
On Monday, Marca praised Buendia’s weekend performance against SD Huesca, Samu Saiz’s former club, and on Tuesday they’re back with more good news about the youngster.
Marca have put Buendia in their non La Liga Team of the Week. The Leeds United target is on the left of a front three.
There’s been no coverage so far in either Argentina or Spain about Leeds United interest, and if the claim was originally made due to the Cultural connection, Getafe would certainly have something to say about that.
Given the praise going the way of Buendia, the idea of interest in itself is certainly, well, interesting.
