Leeds United defender Diego Llorente seems to be pretty satisfied with his loan spell at Roma.

As today reported by Calcio Mercato, the centre-back has ‘fallen in love’ with the Italian side and now wants to stay on a permanent transfer.

The 29-year-old was loaned by Leeds on a six-month deal, and Roma don’t need a lot of work to get the purchase done, as they only need to trigger the €18m buying clause.

The problem, as usual, is that they are not keen on spending the fee that was previously agreed.

Calcio Mercato say Roma will ‘evaluate’ Llorente’s recent form, and in case they go for the signing, they’ll ‘eventually’ try to get a discount on the purchase.

Leeds spent €20m to sign the defender from Real Sociedad in 2020, but his market value has dropped since then, with Transfermarkt now having it at €12m.

The reason Roma shouldn’t go strongly for the signing is that he was barely used by the club so far. He’s only made four appearances, two of them in the starting line-up, and will probably need to show more to convince them to buy him.
