Leeds United could bring back Lewis Cook on loan from Bournemouth in the New Year, according to the Bournemouth Echo. The youngster joined the Premier League side in the summer from Leeds United, but has struggled to get games since arriving at the club.

The Bournemouth Echo have today claimed Leeds United may make a surprise move for Cook when the transfer window reopens in January. The 19 year old’s pre-season preparations were hampered with an ankle injury, and when he did regain his fitness Bournemouth had brought in Arsenal star Jack Wilshere on deadline day.

As a result, Cook has made just one appearance since signing for Bournemouth, and loan move back to Leeds United would allow him more playing time.

Cook came through the Leeds United youth system, and made his debut for the Championship side in 2014. The midfielder went on to make 80 league appearances for Leeds United, but this brought him to the attention of clubs from the Premier League.

Last season Cook was also named the Football League Young Player of the Year for his impressive displays. However, despite extending his contract with Leeds United last year, he signed for Bournemouth in July on a four-year deal.
