Hamburg sporting director Jens Todt has confirmed Pierre-Michel Lasogga has travelled to England to discuss a move to Leeds United.

The Championship side could be looking to bring in an experienced forward before the window closes, following the recent departure of Chris Wood.

Hamburger Morgenposten today report Lasogga looks to be on the verge of leaving the Bundesliga side after being excluded from their squad at the weekend. The 25 year old looks surplus to requirements at Hamburg, and in recent days the player has again been linked with Leeds United.

The German newspaper, along with Sport.de, confirm Lasogga is currently speaking to Leeds United about a transfer. Todt has revealed the forward will be considering the move and that Hamburg have granted permission for him to travel: “Pierre has taken two days to get an overview.”

Lasogga has been linked with Leeds United throughout August, and it seemed he would be joining the club when he was present at Elland Road for the game against Preston North End. However, Lasooga started to have second thoughts about a move due to the competition from Wood.

The New Zealander has since joined Burnley, and a move to Leeds United now looks more appealing for Lasogga, as he would be guaranteed more playing time.
