The betting case of Newcastle United star Sandro Tonali continues to get all types of reactions in the Italian media.

We’re still waiting for the final verdict on the midfielder’s future, as after a plea bargain, he’s set to find a deal with his home country’s authorities.

As Sky Italia now features quotes from the Italian Minister for Sport And Youth Andrea Abodi, he comes up with his idea of some clauses that should be included in player’s contracts.

“I would like it if together with the contract the footballer would commit to signing a charter of values with four clear things: no doping, no betting, no taking money off the books and no watching matches on illegal platforms.”

Doping, betting and taking illegal money are definitely forbidden in all sports, but it’d be quite strange to see a Newcastle player, or someone from any club for that matter, being banned for watching a random game on some obscure website.

Newcastle have an important run this week, first playing Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, and then visiting Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.

With the club waiting for the decision on Tonali’s case, this is certainly a tense moment for Eddie Howe and his staff, who know they probably won’t be able to count on the player for much longer.
