Currently in Italy to negotiate the transfer of Milan Škriniar, Tottenham are also working on a deal to bring in Arkadiusz Milik to London.
In need of a backup/alternative to Harry Kane, Spurs have turned their attention to the Poland international, whose contract in Napoli is set to expire next summer.
With no renewal in sight, Aurelio De Laurentiis has decided to cash in on his player now, which has alerted those in charge at Spurs.
Multiple articles have been published on Friday about it, starting with Corriere dello Sport, who explain an intermediary is currently ‘in England’ to work with the Premier League side and Mourinho to ‘untangle the Milik knot’.
Napoli ‘want to sell him on loan with an obligation to buy of €30m including bonuses’, but Tottenham ‘still reflect on everything’.
Il Mattino have their own take, explaining that Spurs ‘want the fee to be paid in a year’, meaning Milik ‘would have to renew with Napoli and then be sold’.
This is also suggested by Area Napoli, who believe the loan formula is the one to go forward, but a new short-term contract will be needed.
They state ‘the final price would be close to €25m’, but Aurelio De Laurentiis ‘continues to ask for a further €5m in bonuses’, which Spurs have yet to agree with.
Either way, the website report ‘talks are continuing and everyone’s hope is to find the right figure shortly’.
