Last week, multiple reports coming out Italy talked about Newcastle United interest in Torino star Perr Schuurs.

The Magpies continue to be pushed forward as the defender’s suitor in Italy, this time from Calciomercato.

Their title states the Serie A side will receive offers from the Premier League for the 23-year-old. Within the report, Newcastle get a mention.

Torino paid €9m plus bonuses to secure the centre-back’s services from Ajax last summer and his market value has at least doubled after an impressive debut season in Italy. This is the message the Turin club are sending to those teams who are ready to present an offer for him in the coming months.

The report explains there is ‘insistent pressing from Newcastle’ to acquire the player’s signature in the next window. The Tyneside club are so pleased with the Dutchman that they are considering making an offer for him.

With interest shown by Newcastle and other clubs, Torino could ‘reap the benefits from an economic point of view’ from Schuurs’ sale in the summer. Meanwhile, his ‘journey could soon be enriched’ at a another club from next season.

This would suggest Torino and Schuurs are open to business in the summer.
