Last weekend, Corriere dello Sport said Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat dreams of returning to Manchester United this summer.
The Morocco international was on loan at Old Trafford last season, where he played 30 games in all competitions. As a part of the loan deal, the Red Devils have an option to make his stay permanent.
Earlier this week, Gazzetta dello Sport stated Manchester United have time until July 21st to decide on whether to buy the midfielder.
Despite having another 10 days, Erik ten Hag’s side are not willing to activate the buying option, after having paid €10m in loan fee last summer. However, there’s a possibility for him to return to Manchester United in window.
It’s claimed the Premier League side could look to sign the 27-year-old on another loan deal.
Prior to moving to Manchester United, Amrabat extended his contract until 2026. Taking this into account, the report indicates it would be possible for Fiorentina to sanction a new loan transfer.
It remains to be seen whether this claim will be backed up by other outlets in Italy. Until then, we would suggest taking this report with a pinch of salt.
Amrabat isn’t included in Fiorentina’s plans and it would make sense for them to sell him this summer instead of letting him leave on a temporary deal.
