AC Milan could turn their attention to Tottenham’s Pape Matar Sarr after missing out on Carney Chukwuemeka.
That’s according to Corriere Della Sera, who say the margins are there for the two sides to find an agreement.
Earlier today we covered a report that stated Milan would gladly sign Tottenham duo Sarr and Japhet Tanganga this summer and were working on a potential deal with those in charge in London.
The newspaper now backs that up, explaining that after securing Charles de Ketelaere, Milan are turning their attention to a new defender and midfielder.
They had wanted Chukwuemeka but Aston Villa agreed a deal with Chelsea, so Milan are now looking around elsewhere.
Sarr is one of the options on their list and one to ‘watch out’ for according to Corriere Della Sera, and initial conversations have been held.
The Rossoneri are proposing a loan with a simple right to buy included, the go-to offer for all Italian sides, but Tottenham want there to be an obligation to buy instead.
That is the difference between the two sides at this moment in time but there are ‘important margins for negotiation’. We’re reading that as there is room for the two clubs to find an agreement.
Whether they can remains to be seen, and Milan do have other options, but negotiations are underway for Sarr either way.
