Yannick Bolasie, loaned by Everton to Anderlecht until the end of the season, is having the time of his life in Belgium over the past two weeks.
Scoring the late winner against Antwerp two weekends ago, the DR Congo international continued to make a name for himself this week with a double against Club Brugge, helping his new side to consolidate their spot for a Playoff I place (where the top six teams fight for the title in a mini league) come the end of the season.
Speaking to the press after the game, the Everton loanee was asked if Marco Silva and co. were keeping an eye on him, he said, relayed by DH: “I don’t know. I’m just doing my thing. For me and for Anderlecht to bring them back to their level. I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to jinx anything”.
Bolasie was asked if he had spoken to a former Toffees and former Anderlecht player in Romelu Lukaku before the game, and his answer was yes, they speak everyday.
In fact, by scoring two against Club Brugge, the winger was told he’d achieved a feat the Manchester United striker had never done himself.
His reply? “Oh, wow. I’m beating him there. iIm going to tell him”.
The Everton forward also revealed he still puts ice on his knee after games, just to be careful, as he still doesn’t feel like he’s at 100% of his abilities.
If this is him not fully fit, then Anderlecht have more to look forward to in the coming weeks.
