The always charismatic Yerry Mina was one of the players chosen to speak to the Colombian press at the national team camp on Thursday.
It’s no secret that the local media has been giving huge attention to Everton, since James Rodriguez not only signed for the club, but has also been doing great so far.
So Mina was asked to talk about the Toffees’ recent form, and the defender is still thrilled after his goal against Brighton at the weekend.
“Thankful to God for allowing me to score one more goal. I’m calm because things are going well, there’s harmony within the dressing room,” said Mina (via AS)
“We have a great family at Everton and we are showing it on the pitch. I’m the happiest because the James arrived, we have a very good relationship and I want to enjoy him as a person and as a professional, I always try to work with him.”
Even though Yerry Mina struggled with injuries in the past, he now claims to be completely fit to help both Colombia and the Toffees.
“I have a very good working team, both in the national team and at Everton. All I’m saying is that injuries come when they come. When it happens, you have to get up and move on, you don’t have to stay there. I’m in communication with this group of people. I work to avoid injuries and I feel fantastic. I thank the people who have accompanied me.”
Colombia are playing Venezuela on Friday and Chile on Tuesday in the World Cup qualifiers. Mina and Rodriguez are then back to Everton as they prepare to face Liverpool in the Merseyside derby on the 17th of October.
