Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai has insisted nothing has changed for him personally despite his move to Anfield in the summer transfer window.
The midfielder has been speaking follownig Hungary’s win over Serbia in European qualifying last night, relayed by Magnar Nemzet.
Szoboszlai joined Liverpool in a €70m move from RB Leipzig earlier this summer as part of the Reds major summer rebuild of Jurgen Klopp’s midfield.
He’s been an instant hit at Anfield, with a series of impressive performances in the opening four games of the season earning him rave reviews from fans and pundits alike.
The move to Liverpool is undoubtedly the biggest of the 22-year-old’s career to date, with the expectation and demands at Anfield far eclipsing what was expected of him at former clubs RB Leipzig, RB Salzburg or FC Liefering.
He continued his fine form with a star turn in Hungary’s win over Serbia last night, helping his side to overcome the disappointment of an early own goal to secure a 2-1 win and all three points.
He earned praise for that display and is now very much seen as the leader for his nation moving forwards, but he insists nothing has changed on that front.
“Everyone can have an opinion and expectations about me, but I don’t want to worry about what people think of me,” he said.
“I don’t want the press to suggest that I’ve become a different person by moving to Liverpool. I remained the same as I was.
“We are equal in the dressing room, regardless of who plays and how much. I’m no different, I want to help the team, and if my own career moves forward with all this, that’s great too.”
