Chelsea youngster Cesare Casadei has insisted he welcomed their offer “with open arms” as he wanted a change of scenery from Inter Milan.

The midfielder joined the Blues from Inter in the summer, with the Blues securing his signature as they continue their efforts to hoover up talent from around the world.

It was the first time that the 19-year-old had moved outside of Italy, having spent all of his career so far with Cesena’s Youth team and then in the various age groups at Inter Milan.

He’s yet to feature for Chelsea’s first team this season, instead spending the season so far with the Blues’ under 21 side in Premier League.

He’s been impressing, with three goals and an assist in five games so far and a further two appearances in the EFL Trophy.

His performances have not gone unnoticed, with him earning his first call up to the Italian U21 national team for the first team.

That’s seen the Chelsea youngster sitting down with Gazzetta dello Sport to talk about his move to Stamford Bridge, an experience he is clearly delighted with.

“When the offer arrived and I had the opportunity to make this new experience, I honestly took it with open arms,” he told the newspaper.

“It wasn’t an easy choice to make, and it wasn’t easy at the beginning either because I didn’t know the language well and I’m still learning it, but I felt I had to do it to get out of my comfort zone.

“For the moment I’m having fun and it’s a super positive experience. I’ve grown humanly, because I had to start fending for myself, and technically, because there’s more intensity here, the speed of the game is greater.”
