Defender Pedro Porro has made it clear he has no intention of giving up on his time at the club just yet after securing his ‘dream’ move in January.
The defender has been speaking to Hoy in Spain regarding this season, which has been a busy one for him personally.
He joined Tottenham in a €45m deal from Sporting Club de Portugal in the January transfer window as then manager Antonio Conte spent big to secure the right-wing-back his team really needed.
The Spaniard had been impressing in Portugal for several seasons after arriving on loan from Manchester City in August 2020, managing 12 goals and 20 assists in 98 games for the club.
He initially appeared to be struggling to adapt to life in England but started to impress towards the end of the season, bagging three goals and three assists in 17 games for the club so far.
Porro is likely to be the first choice right-back at the club next season under new manager Ange Postecoglou, who has arrived as the permanent replacement for Conte this summer.
He’s keen to impress and insists he wants to build on what’s happened so far and continue to live his dream transfer.
“It was a giant step, in the end, I’ve been fighting for it all my life and it’s something very big,” he said.
“And I don’t want to wake up from this dream, it is undoubtedly one of the best leagues in the world, if not the best, and being there every day is a gift for me for all the work I have been doing since I was little in my land.”
