Following the confirmation of Axel Tuanzebe’s loan from Manchester United to Napoli, his agent had a word with the Italian media regarding the decision to make the transfer.
Speaking to Radio Punto Nuovo, Italian representative Fabrizio Ferrari detailed the move, with some strong statements on the player’s decision to leave Old Trafford.
First speaking of Napoli’s choice for Tuanzebe and his departure from Manchester United, the official first made it sound like young players aren’t getting fair treatment at the Premier League side.
“Tuanzebe was chosen, he’s not a fallback. They were looking for a structured defender but with speed in his legs, and Axel married very well. He still has to express himself to the maximum but he’s very strong and can be very useful to Napoli,” Ferrari told Radio Punto Nuovo (via Area Napoli).
“I believe that Manchester United has made particular decisions for the growth of their young players, I don’t think they have a policy to improve their training. They are confusing in the management of players under contract. Tuanzebe has returned to these managerial changes.”
Ferrari then also talked about a potential permanent move. He made it clear that Tuanzebe isn’t only keen on spending a few months in Italy, and the clubs should sit to negotiate in the summer in case he has an impressive spell there.
“There are all the margins, no doubt. Axel did not come here to do four months but to make people understand his football level, show his characteristics and then it will be up to Napoli to find the economic solution to bring Tuanzebe outright. He was very happy, we chatted a lot about the differences between English and Italian football.”
With reports from Italy claiming the loan would not include a buying option, we now wait and see how much would Napoli be convinced of spending on Tuanzebe next summer.
The agent was also asked whether the Manchester United will be indulging in pizza in Napoli, to which he insisted his client has the appropriate professional diet.
