On Monday afternoon Le Parisien reported a second Lyon offer for Memphis Depay, and within a very short time RMC had published an article saying that offer had been rejected.
Tuesday sees Foot Mercato claiming that a third offer has now been made. This time Lyon are offering Manchester United €18m including bonuses, an improvement on the second bid of €15m, and a full €6m more than the first offer of €12m.
Still, it’s not enough for Manchester United and Foot Mercato say a source has told them the Premier League club want £20m, around €23m. Lyon aren’t giving up but don’t want to match Manchester United’s demands.
It’s stated that ‘time is short’ because Lyon manager Bruno Genesio wants to present Depay on Sunday, before the home match against Marseille. That’s being quite hopeful, but as soon as Lyon come up with an offer Manchester United find acceptable, everything else should move pretty quickly.
