Torino have been trying to improve their attack with Everton’s Beto for most of the winter market.

The striker has been limited to seven minutes since David Moyes returned to Goodison Park and reportedly wants to leave the Toffees. Indeed, claims from Italy this week have made it sound like he’s desperate.

Two days ago, Tuttosport stated the Serie A side aren’t willing to offer beyond €14m and this is €6m short of Everton’s request.

Saturday’s edition of the same newspaper points that out again and provides the latest on Torino’s pursuit of the 26-year-old.

Tuttosport state the Turin club are waiting for the Everton player, hoping that their efforts can ‘turn from a mirage into a dream’.

The Portuguese attacker has long been on Torino technical director Davide Vagnati’s wanted list but he’s still not managed to find an agreement with the Toffees, and now Beto is in the last chance saloon.

That’s because Tuttosport state Torino have included Cologne’s Damion Downs in their list and he is Vagnati’s ‘new dream’ for the attack.

Torino may proceed with a move for Downs if Everton continue to refuse to lower Beto’s price below €20m.
