While pretty much every single outlet in Italy seems convinced that Milan are getting a good deal in potentially signing Liverpool’s Divock Origi on a free, there’s the odd journalist who doesn’t.

One of those is Federico Zancan, who is a pundit on Sky Italia, who had his say on the San Siro side’s plans, speaking to Talk on Radio Rossonera.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen multiple articles claiming Milan are close to striking a deal with the Liverpool forward, whose contract at Anfield expires at the end of the season.

The idea would be for him to add his experience and winning mentality to Stefano Pioli’s side, but his limited game time under Jürgen Klopp is a worry for Zancan.

He said: “He’s a part-time player, and despite having little space, he has remained and become a cult for Liverpool fans. He’s a strong player and is very attractive to big teams in Europe. In the last season, Klopp has also used him out wide.”

The first line of that quote seems to suggest he might be against the signing, but Zancan does admit there might be some value in there, especially when it comes to his versatility.

In fact, the pundit even gives an alternative he feels would be better suited for the Serie A side: Chelsea’s Armando Broja.

He said: “He is a very strong player and is waiting to be discovered. I would take him instead of Origi. He is owned by Chelsea, so it will be difficult to go get him but the London team will be able to sell him given the many talents they have at home. But it’s complicated.”

We’ll have to wait and see what comes of all this, but this appears to be a small warning for Milan when it comes to tying the knot with the Liverpool striker.
