Sunderland youngster Benjamin Kimpioka has told the Swedish media he’s feeling confident with every match, after his side’s 3-0 win over Newcastle United U18s at the weekend.
Speaking to Fotboll Dirket, the Sunderland starlet was asked about his good performance against Newcastle United U18s on Saturday: “It was an important match for us to win and it’s been so good for me lately. I’ve scored eight goals in the last five games and this strengthens my self-confidence.
“I’ve got a lot of confidence from the coach in every match and we felt like that at on Saturday.”
Kimpioka scored Sunderland’s opening goal in their U18 clash with Newcastle United at the weekend, and the Swede also won his side a penalty, as they ran out comfortable winners.
The 17 year old has impressed for Sunderland’s youth team this season after arriving at the Championship side last year. Kimpioka signed for the English side on a four year deal from IK Sirius last July, and in doing so joined up with fellow Swedish youngster Joel Asoro.
18 year old Asoro has already played for the Sunderland senior team, and Kimpioka will want to do likewise in the future. Scoring against Newcastle is a good way of going about things.
