Salomon Kalou left Chelsea for Lille in 2012 and after spending two seasons with the French club, Hertha Berlin acquired his services.
The Ivory Coast international has made only one start and has been on the pitch for only 147 minutes in the league this season.
According to Kicker, the former Blues man is drawing attention from England as West Ham United have set their sights on him.
It’s claimed the Hammers have ‘sent a request’ to Hertha Berlin asking about the 34-year-old.
The report doesn’t specify whether or not the German club have accepted the request made by David Moyes’ side and if the forward is open to the idea of joining the London club in the winter market.
Kalou’s current deal with Hertha Berlin runs down after this season and considering his age, he shouldn’t cost a lot, if there’s a transfer.
Meanwhile, the player isn’t happy about his situation at the club and was highly critical about Hertha manager Jürgen Klinsmann.
“It’s not like I’ve only been here for five days or months. I’ve spent almost six years here and have always scored my goals. I don’t need special treatment because of that. But it’s about respect, and there’s currently a massive lack of it,” Kalou was quoted as saying.
“I’m fit and ready to play. If the team need me, I’ll do my job. I’ve never experienced anything like this before. Not even at the great Chelsea.”
