Barcelona’s search for a new forward has seen them set their sights on Marcus Rashford of Manchester United.
On the front page of today’s edition of Mundo Deportivo, it reads ‘Rashford on the agenda’ along with other targets Luka Jovic and Antoine Griezmann.
At the Camp Nou, there are strong advocates of the 21-year-old for his age, technical qualities and ability to play up front, while he can also create trouble for opposition players when playing from wide positions.
It is further claimed the England international is ‘fully qualified’ for the ‘short combination game’ that characterises the Blaugrana’s attack.
Ernesto Valverde’s side have been interested in the player’s contractual situation with the Premier League outfit.
It’s not mentioned, but Manchester United have an option to extend the contract for a further season.
Mundo explains that an approach from Barca for Rashford will not be easy because taking him away from the English club could be a ‘very complicated task’ as the Red Devils are not known for selling their stars.
The forward could be expensive for the Catalan club. In addition to this, the British players’ traditional difficulties when joining Spanish clubs could be another factor for Rashford to consider a move to Barcelona.
