A few days ago we covered claims from Spain that Deportivo La Coruna have targeted Victor Orta to be their new Director of Sport.
It was claimed Depor initiated talks with the Leeds United man in mid-March, with it very much being them chasing Orta rather than the reverse.
Now there’s an update from Onda Cero, and it’s claimed Depor have finished ‘casting’ for the position and are getting to the final stages before appointing someone.
There’s three men who have been chosen, and those are Orta, Carmelo del Pozo and Luis Helguera. Onda Cero don’t know any more on the chase and there’s no claim of any of the three being more prominent than the others.
El Desmarque believe Juan Carlos Cordero, currently, at Cadiz, is also under consideration but the other three are considered firmer.
Orta will likely have more cash to play around with this summer at Leeds United than he would at Depor, with the Spanish club facing relegation. Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani has shown faith in Orta and despite a difficult season there’s no sign the Italian is frustrated with his transfer guru.
