Compared to other Premier League clubs, Burnley haven’t exactly splashed the cash on the transfer market this summer, spending just under £10m so far.

Jay Rodriguez arrived from West Brom for £5m alongside Bailey Peacock-Farrell from Leeds for £2.5m and Erik Pieters from Stoke City for under £1m.

They also sold Tom Heaton for a questionable fee of £8m to Aston Villa, but, overall, thing have been relatively quiet at Turf Moor.

That could change, however, as France Football believe Sean Dyche’s side have taken an interest in FC Nantes midfielder Abdoulaye Touré, joining Bundesliga side Hoffenheim on the list of clubs after the former France U20 international.

The midfielder was nearly ever-present last season, featuring 34 times in Ligue 1 for the French club, scoring three goals and assisting teammates four times along the way.

It’s stated the player ‘wants to try something new’, hoping to leave Nantes this summer if he can, and Burnley like his profile ‘a lot’.

No potential fee or asking price is mentioned.
