Once again Middlesbrough’s Viktor Fischer has been speaking whilst away on international duty, and once again he’s said things which will please fans of the club.
Mature, intelligent, and with a great attitude towards the game, Fischer is patient at Middlesbrough as he works his way into the Premier League. Denmark’s Bold have had a chat with the 22 year old, who explained he’s in no rush to expect a first team place.
Bold put it to Fischer that, with all due respect, he was pretty cheap for a Premier League player, and the Middlesbrough forward accepts he’s seen as one for the future: “I think they saw me as a purchase that can be a good in the long term. I was also well aware that it would take time. It’s hard to put a period on it, but I was aware that it would take time to play in the team.”
Despite perhaps not having played as much as he’d like, Fischer is clearly enjoying his time at the club, and has been impressed by those around him. He feels the Middlesbrough team are really coming together and told Bold: “I think that it starts to look really, really strong. We are playing better and better and it is not least because the leaders we have, including Victor Valdes, who has been absolutely magnificent the past three weeks.”
Fischer also had some praise for his Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka, who has clearly made an impression on the Denmark international already: “He is a very, very good tactician. He is adept at looking at what is best for us given the opponent. He is a strong manager and a strong personality. He is close to the players, and I also feel that I have a very, very good relationship with him.”
